Two different meanings of how many
The US FAQ describes an exclusive probiotic strain plus four or five additional live cultures, depending on the product. That is a count of culture types. Its separate billions wording concerns microorganisms, and cannot be converted into one exact per-serving CFU figure from that page alone. [1]
Do not substitute a different country or product
For an exact quantity, seek the manufacturer’s specification for your named product, serving and market, including whether the number applies through shelf life. A number from another Activia product or country is not automatically the number in your cup. ODS explains why viable counts, storage and strain identity matter. [1][2]
Use the count for the question it answers
Imagine one yogurt says billions while another states a precise CFU amount. The second is more numerically explicit, but that alone does not establish a larger health benefit. A clinical comparison needs the tested strains, dose, population and outcome; this page does not evaluate Activia’s advertised trial results. [2]
| Question | Useful check |
|---|---|
| Culture types | Number of different listed organisms |
| CFUs | Viable-organism quantity under stated conditions |
| Clinical benefit | Needs matching outcome evidence |
