    What bovine adrenal supplements are made of: cattle gland tissue

    Bovine adrenal ingredients come from cattle adrenal tissue. A formula may contain whole gland, adrenal cortex or a blend; that description does not prove it safely corrects fatigue or hormone levels.

    Bovine identifies the animal source

    The inspected Pure Encapsulations Adrenal page identifies whole adrenal and adrenal cortex from bovine herds. Cortex refers to the outer part of the gland. This is an animal-derived ingredient category, even if the finished capsule shell is made from a plant-derived material. [1]

    The full formula can include more than gland tissue

    Read the entire Supplement Facts and other-ingredients list. An adrenal-support label alone does not specify one standardized formulation, dose or hormone content. Do not infer that two brands contain the same material or have the same effects from the category name. [1][2]

    A gland ingredient is not a diagnosis or hormone prescription

    The Endocrine Society explains that adrenal fatigue is not an established diagnosis and that persistent tiredness can have other causes. It also warns that unnecessary adrenal hormone supplements can suppress normal hormone production. A manufacturer’s support claim does not establish safe replacement therapy for adrenal insufficiency. [3]

    Review both the source and the reason for use

    Imagine a vegetarian shopper assumes a vegetable capsule makes an adrenal product vegetarian. The bovine gland ingredient means it does not. Separately, someone buying it for exhaustion needs assessment of the symptoms and the full formula, not an assumption that eating gland tissue restores gland function. [1][3]
