Does fenugreek help erectile dysfunction?

The reviewed evidence does not establish fenugreek as a reliable treatment for erectile dysfunction. Some studies concern desire, broader sexual-function scores or testosterone in selected men. Those outcomes do not demonstrate treatment effectiveness in people with diagnosed erectile dysfunction.

Check who was actually studied

The male-trial review includes healthy, exercising, aging and other selected populations using different extracts. Evidence from men without a defined erectile-dysfunction diagnosis cannot automatically establish a treatment for that condition. [1]

Hormone changes are not erection outcomes

The review found very uncertain evidence for a small total-testosterone effect and no stable free-testosterone benefit. Even a confirmed hormone change would not establish reliable erections, improved vascular function or equivalence to an approved medicine. [1]

Sexual-function claims can cover different endpoints

Desire, satisfaction, frequency of activity and erectile performance are different measures. Studies of mixed formulations also cannot isolate fenugreek. Avoid treating a broad male-health claim as proof for the specific problem. [1]

Seek assessment for persistent difficulty

Imagine erections remain unreliable despite trying a supplement. Review symptoms, medicines and appropriate treatment options with a clinician. Fenugreek can cause digestive symptoms, allergy and low blood sugar, and may interact with medicines. [2][3]
